Charleston, SC – The Promotores de Salud (Health Promoters) community invites parents and caregivers to their annual Reunion Festiva (Reunion Party) on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 6:30-8:00 PM via Zoom. This virtual event is open to anyone interested in learning about healthy parent-child communication, connecting with other Spanish-speaking families, and discovering more about the Promotores de Salud program. The event will feature fun activities, useful resources, and a raffle for participants.

In addition to the Reunion Festiva, the organization will host monthly Cafecito (Coffee Chats) on Zoom every first Monday of the month at 6:30 PM, beginning in October. These sessions offer a space to ask questions about sexual and reproductive health, facilitated by Promotores de Salud volunteers. To receive the Zoom link for these chats, text 540-315-2130.
Looking ahead, the Seamos Honestos program, a free 12-session health training series for adults in Spanish, will begin in January 2025. The program equips parents, guardians, and caregivers with skills to have open and honest conversations with youth about puberty, healthy relationships, and responsible decision-making. Participants will graduate as Promotores de Salud and receive a stipend of up to $60.
